Ife Olusegun (she/her)
Research Assistant
Ife is a Master of Planning (MPl) graduate student in the School of Urban and Regional Planning at Toronto Metropolitan University. She holds a double major Bachelor of Science degree in Neuroscience and Psychology from the University of Lethbridge.
Her graduate research seeks to explore and study the built environment through a neurourbanistic lens – an emerging field of study that aims to bridge the gap between neuroscience, psychology and urban planning. Specifically, Ife seeks to further understand, and shed more light on:
Neurodivergent experiences in the built environment
How urban environments contribute to stress
What factors of the urban environment provide refuge from stress
How urban environments affect individuals on a physiological level
These research interests seek to further inform equitable and accessible planning for all.
Research Interests: Neurourbanism, Neuroinclusivity, Environmental Planning, Accessibility, Green Infrastructure, Urban Design, Sustainable Design and Development
Projects: (Re)imagining Accessibility on the Waterfront, Investigating Social Inclusion, Connection and Belonging in Parks
